Salon del Trono (The Thrones Hall) draws the most attention. There one may see thrones set for Juan Carlos and Sofia, current monarchs of Spain. The other allurement of the room is luxury ceilings Tiepolo – giant murals that glorify Spain, which the author created when he was in his seventies! The other two popular rooms are Sala de Porcelana and Salon de Gasparini. The latter is designed completely in the Eastern style.
The facilities outside the palace premises are interesting to visit no less. Armeria real, for instance, is a huge collection of armory and weapon, dated back to different centuries and even ages. The 18th century pharmacy is a curious mixture of alchemists’ den and laboratory, and its walls are streaked with shelves with variously labeled vessels and cans.
One can also notice the premises of Royal Library, although one should have an advanced permission to enter and enjoy incredibly rich collection of antique books and manuscripts.
